Dear Friends of One Way,
This quarter, we made a new investment in a stealth startup building AI tools for the tax industry, led by a seasoned team with experience in privacy-first consumer tech and scaling companies from early-stage to IPO. We’re excited to support their mission to modernize a space long overdue for change.
We also had the opportunity to connect with exceptional people at two standout events: Eugene attended the inaugural HumanX conference on AI in Lisbon, while Lex joined a panel at the Cornell Club of Boston to share insights on the agentic AI landscape.
And we’re thrilled to welcome Mimi Yagoub to our team as Head of Communications. She brings a deep understanding of storytelling and media strategy that will help elevate the voices of our founders and portfolio.
We’re energized by the momentum and look forward to what’s ahead.
New Investments in Q1
Stealth | AI
We recently invested in a stealth startup reimagining how individuals manage, plan, and file taxes. The team is building an AI-powered tax assistant that works through simple email-based interactions, combining automation with licensed CPA oversight for speed, accuracy, and trust. Their approach stands apart in a slow-moving $18B U.S. tax prep industry dominated by outdated software and expensive professional services.
The founding team brings years of experience in privacy-focused technology and consumer product design. They previously co-founded companies acquired by global brands, led teams at aerospace and fintech startups, and held senior product and engineering roles, helping scale a company from early-stage to IPO.
