Hi friends,
We hope you’re having a warm and refreshing summer. As we reflect on the exciting developments of the past quarter, we are thrilled to share details about our new investment in Odyssey Spaceworks along with some noteworthy highlights from our current portfolio companies.
We're particularly pleased to share that a collective of 347 open positions in our portfolio are now live on our jobs board, indicating a positive trend from last year. Additionally, we launched our branding refresh which you can check out on our new website.
New Investments in Q2
Odyssey Spaceworks | Frontier Tech
Odyssey Spaceworks builds miniaturized automated R&D labs in low earth orbit that are accessible over the internet in real-time, allowing pharma and academic researchers to engineer biological systems and make discoveries otherwise impossible on Earth, at a fraction of the cost of human-run bio experiments on the space station.
Shishir Bankapur, CEO of Odyssey and an immigrant from India, previously founded Clarke.ai and also led engineering at Backstage. Jessica Snyder, co-founder and Head of Science at Odyssey, holds a Ph.D. from Drexel University and was formerly a scientist at NASA.
We were particularly excited about this opportunity because, within less than a year, the founders put together a strong 7 person team of experienced engineers, built their first 2 microsat labs, and are slotted for an October SpaceX launch for their first two paying customers.
